Housing Problems

Post by RoyalistBlue on Wed Oct 23, 2013 4:24 pm

"Should you really be so shocked?" The person spoke. You looked at him for awhile before shaking your head and answering "No, I guess not; I just didn't expect this to happen."

=FLASHBACK=

Well, today had been going pretty normal, at least it was if you overlooked what just happened. You're day had been pretty normal, wake up, get ready for school, get to school, eat, talk with friends, and head home. That however was where things began to circumnavigate around the word "normal" or at least, a normal day for you.

While walking home you came across something that stuck to your mind. A house with it's door ajar, open to any curious enough or foolish enough to enter; it was painted white which belied to true nature of the house that it coated.

As you looked at the door a fog came about you; your thoughts became muddle and all things became a chore, all except one thing. The door stood clear to you and moments later you found yourself at it's doorsteps, without a clue of how you reached its steps so quickly or when you did this to begin with, whispers edge in your hearing as you approach the door.

Without a thought about what you were doing you entered the house's domain and with a sharp click your senses returned; panic overtakes you and you flip around to leave but to your horror the door is closed and upon wrestling with it you find it locked and immovable to you.

What will you do now?

You search around to see if you can find any open windows; to your great disappointment there are no open windows nearby, in fact, you note that there are no windows nearby at all! Why, looking around you notice that you're standing in what seems like a hall that connects to to the front door. You squint your eyes to see as far down the hall but it doesn't seem to stop at any point.

You sit there and contemplate how that hall could possibly be so long.

What will you do?

You decide after a bit of calming down that maybe you were just being a tad hasty and that the door was in fact not actually locked, maybe it just seemed locked because you were panicking and not turning the knob properly one way or another.

After walking towards the door and fiddling with the knob this way or that way you realize that you were right, it wasn't locked, however it still wouldn't open. No matter which way you turned it the door just would not allow itself to be opened, no clicks of the mechanism, no anything, the door just refused to be open to your increasing chagrin.

Finally with a huff you give up and decide to head down the hall, cautiously, glancing every which way while walking through the hall you note that each side has a corresponding door beginning with 001 and upwards with every step.

Finally after what feels like either hours or minutes later you stop when you look to your side and notice you've reached 099, glancing about you notice that with all the walking you've made you still can't see the end of the hallway no matter how hard you squint with or without your glasses on.

What will you do now?

You look at the surrounding doors and decide since it seems you aren't going to be going anywhere any time soon, from the looks of it, you should probably check out one of the doors.

You look at the number you were standing at, 102, and decide that you should probably just choose the one you were at seeing as how you were standing right next to it; gripping the handle you pull and...unexpectedly it actually opened, honestly you were thinking it was probably locked; peering inside you can't quite see much inside, just inky darkness, which you find rather disconcerting, honestly, why can't you just find a nice bright room that doesn't look ominous in the least bit?

Huffing slightly you walk into the inky blackness, peering around you can't quite get a feel for the room, just blackness all around, you fumble about for a moment trying to find a light, maybe a light switch to turn on some lights in this room, fumbling about for a good solid minute you finally find the blasted light switch and flick it on.

The room lights up and you find yourself...in a kitchen? You look around to your amazement you are indeed in a kitchen, a fridge stands in the corner, a gloss seemingly covering the exterior as if it had been just recently bought, aside from that you see a couple appliances, a few cupboards, an oven, and a small freezer box on the side.

What will you do now?

With a shake of your head you exit from the kitchen, and shutting the door behind you as you looked around for another random door to go through.

After a moment of spontaneous decision making you go to room 096, wrapping your hand around the handle as you tried to open the door.

The door defies you and is apparently locked, shrugging slightly you go across the hall to room 095 to check that door, jiggling the handle as well, unfortunately this door is also locked; you huff slightly and move to room 090 and jiggle the handle, this time the door is compliant and swings open, an inky blackness greeting you as you look inside the boundary of the room.

You reached your arm into the room and pat the side of the wall, however you can't seem to feel a light switch nearby, it seems you will need to venture in if you want to find a light switch, if there is a light switch that is.

You peek into the room and try to see if you can ascertain the location of anything in the blind darkness; suffice to say though, you find nothing.

Sighing slightly, you head into the darkness and embrace the wall as you try to find any means of lighting up the room, unfortunately after several seconds of doing this you reach the end of the wall.

When your shoulder touches against the end of the wall you jolt slightly, the surface of the wall felt oddly slime-y and you think a bit of it got onto your shirt, you hug the wall back to the doorway slightly disconcerted that you couldn't find a wall switch.

What will you do now?
